Hand Assisted Laparoscopic Surgery

This is laparoxcopic surgery (through the little incisions using cameras) but also making a slightly larger incision to place a "lap disc" which can accommodate a laparoscope or the surgeon's hand. This is particularly helpful in myomectomy surgery where a large fibroid needs removing leaving a large defect that needs to be closed. However, the disc in HALS surgery can also be used in performing a hysterectomy.
